Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I begin? Privates or Classes?
If this will be your first time doing Pilates OR your first time experiencing Pilates with us at Breathe the Intro to Pilates Package is for you! The package consists of 4 private sessions at a special introductory rate with a certified instructor tailored to you. If you choose, these sessions will also help to prepare you for our group equipment classes.
The Intro Package is a wonderful way for us to introduce ourselves and the studio to you and get to know you and your body. As instructors, it is of the utmost importance that we know of any injuries, limitations, or concerns you may have so that we may provide sessions that benefit you to the fullest extent.
Can I take a group equipment class if I am a beginner?
You should have some Pilates experience before starting a group equipment class. We recommend attending one of our smaller classes, which we can guide you towards, or completing the Intro to Pilates package which consists of 4 private sessions before moving on to a group equipment class.
What is the difference between yoga and Pilates?
Both forms of exercise build strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. However, Yoga is based on the Eastern idea of moving energy through your body. The more freely the energy flows, the healthier and more energetic you feel. Pilates on the other hand is physical conditioning first and foremost - rather than spiritual development. Its creator, Joseph Pilates, sought a way to rehabilitate himself and injured soldiers during and after World War I. He developed various mat exercises and machines using cables, trolleys, and exact body positioning. Pilates exercises stretch and strengthen and are unique in their ability to encourage co-ordination between the muscles that stabilize the body.
Can I bring my children?
Our facility cannot provide supervised childcare. We have a room for kiddos with a tv and WIFI if they can be unattended. For liability reasons, children are not permitted in the workout area at any time.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, visa, and MasterCard. To qualify for the discount of multiple lessons or classes you must prepay. Multiple class packages consist of 5 or 10 sessions.
What if I have to cancel?
You can cancel a class by calling the studio at 281-298-5277, or contacting your instructor directly. Please note that there is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. You will be charged in full for your session or class for any cancellations not made within this time.
