The Foundation Apparatus Program:
The Foundation Apparatus Program is designed for those who want to gain thorough knowledge of Pilates mat and also seek a solid foundation of the Pilates method on the various Pilates apparatus. The program is comprised of 36 hours of lecture divided into 6 study modules.
Students who complete the Foundation Apparatus Program will receive a Letter of Attendance and may test for a BASI Pilates Mat teaching credential qualifying them as a teacher of BASI Pilates Mat.
Those attending the Foundation Apparatus Program will be issued a Study Guide and 6 MAWBs to guide them through the exercises on the various Pilates apparatus.

The Comprehensive (GRADUATE) Apparatus Program:
Geared for students who have completed the Foundation Apparatus Program and wish to gain comprehensive knowledge of Pilates on all the Pilates apparatus (including BASI’s proprietary Avalon System). It is comprised of 36 hours of lecture divided into 6 study modules.
Students who complete the Comprehensive Apparatus Program may test for a BASI Pilates teaching credential qualifying them as a teacher of BASI Pilates Advanced Principles equipping them to teach on the full compliment of Pilates apparatus (including the Avalon System).
Tuition includes a PMA Student Membership for one year. Please allow a minimum of 30-days, upon your registration, for membership to be active.

BASI’s unique approach to Mat Work as the foundation of the Pilates method permeates this exciting course. Taught to be applicable in many different settings and environments, it covers a very wide repertoire of Mat Work exercises and the integration of small apparatus. BASI encourages students to regard the Mat Work course as a springboard to the Comprehensive course.

PILATES FOR INJURIES AND PATHOLOGIES
This three-day certificate course presents a Physical Therapy approach to working with clients who have injuries, physical limitations, or movement dysfunctions

This three-day certificate course presents a Physical Therapy approach to working with clients who have injuries, physical limitations, or movement dysfunctions. Focusing primarily on the cervical and lumbar spine, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and foot, the course covers functional anatomy, biomechanics and a review of current literature. Specific injuries and pathologies, such as disc disease, post-surgical conditions, rotator cuff syndrome, tendinopathies and osteoarthritis, are examined. Students learn about precautions and/or contraindications for these conditions, as well as exercise options and modifications to the original BASI Pilates repertoire. Course participants learn safe ways to work with clients who suffer from some of the most commonly encountered pathologies and injuries, via lectures, discussions, demonstrations and practice.
This program is approved by the PMA for 18 CECs.
